2011 Ford Edge is a leader in fuel economy;

The Ford Edge is a leader for safety and is one of the top selling Ford models on the market at the moment. Edge sales are up 25 percent for 2011 and the Edge is expected to be a segment leader in sales and safety. Other safe vehicles can be purchased from a Honda Dealer Maryland such as the Honda Accord or the Honda Crosstour. The Edge was the segment leader for sales in March with 18 percent of crossover sales and continues Ford's tradition of taking leading market shares. Other leading crossover models can be purchased from a Nissan Dealership AZ. The Ford Edge features the latest in fuel efficient technology and other features that make it stand out from competing crossovers like those sold at Nissan Orange County.

Features that are new to the Edge include Safety Canopy side airbags and radar based collision warning systems that make it one of the safest crossovers on the market. There is also brake assist to avoid crashes and it is one of the top 10 vehicles on the road that have earned a top safety pick. Earning a top safety pick requires a vehicle to have good performance in front and rear impact crash ratings as well as have good roof strength evaluations and electronic stability control. The Edge was first launched in late 2010 and has had many sales through 2011 being one of the leaders in crossover sales since its launch.

So far over 100,000 Edge models have been sold and demand for the vehicle continues to go up. Many of the Edge vehicles sold have been equipped with a rear view camera and 32 percent included Blind Spot Information System which offers blind spot warnings as well as cross traffic alert. These are some of the top safety features on the market and the Ford Edge is now considered to be one of the safest crossovers available.

Ford engineer talks about new Ford electric models;

Ford's chief engineer discussed the technology that will be found in Ford's five new electric vehicles. Ford has made it a main priority to produce electric vehicles to help the company compete with Toyota, Nissan, and Chevy, who have produced models like the Toyota Prius which can be purchased from a Minneapolis Toyota dealership and many other models. Also check out Chevy Volt pricing for the latest price on Volts in your area. Los Angeles BMW also has a number of high quality models, although luxury automakers like BMW and Mercedes have been a bit slower to embrace electric vehicle production.

Ford will be offering a full suite of electric vehicles to the market over the next few years. Ford currently has over 244 patents for its electrification technology. With gas prices increasing throughout the world, more and more people are becoming interested in electric vehicles. Ford will have a number of technologies in its new models including a fuel saving technology that starts and stops of the vehicle. The Auto Start Stop system will improve fuel economy for drivers by up to 4 percent and for some drivers the gain can be up to 10 percent. Tailpipe emissions will be reduced to near zero with technology while the vehicle is stationary or at a stoplight.

Another technology that will be available with the new Ford models is the HMI or human-machine interface. This involves interaction between the driver and the vehicle and is part of a number of software suites that Ford offers. Ford also offers SmartGauge and EcoGuide. A display screen shows the number of miles driven at the end of a trip as well as miles that were gained through features like regenerative braking. There is also a budget view, range view and Brake Coach which offers feedback on how to improve braking to improve battery energy performance.
