Ford's chief engineer discussed the technology that will be found in Ford's five new electric vehicles. Ford has made it a main priority to produce electric vehicles to help the company compete with Toyota, Nissan, and Chevy, who have produced models like the Toyota Prius which can be purchased from a Minneapolis Toyota dealership and many other models. Also check out Chevy Volt pricing for the latest price on Volts in your area. Los Angeles BMW also has a number of high quality models, although luxury automakers like BMW and Mercedes have been a bit slower to embrace electric vehicle production.
Another technology that will be available with the new Ford models is the HMI or human-machine interface. This involves interaction between the driver and the vehicle and is part of a number of software suites that Ford offers. Ford also offers SmartGauge and EcoGuide. A display screen shows the number of miles driven at the end of a trip as well as miles that were gained through features like regenerative braking. There is also a budget view, range view and Brake Coach which offers feedback on how to improve braking to improve battery energy performance.
