Next Prius to be Built in the United States;

The hybrid vehicle market is going to be worth checking out for many buyers in the next few years. News has come out that Toyota will be building its fourth-generation Prius in the United States but not for a long time. The fourth-generation Prius will not be built until 2016 because of factory delays and other preparations. The closing of the NUMMI plant by GM caused the Prius to be delayed.

Also, Toyota expected the United States economy to take some time to rebound. It is surprising that Toyota will wait a whole six years to build their new Prius model. One has to wonder whether this is a sign that the economy might be in for the long haul in terms of a recovery.

Other automakers like Tesla have decided to ramp up or release their own models in 2012 instead of 2016. It is estimated that the hybrid auto market will increase every year, however Toyota knows better than anyone what the hybrid auto market is like since the company has by far the most experience with producing and selling hybrid vehicles.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, Meets with Colbert;

The CEO of Tesla Motors met with Steven Colbert to discuss some of the latest Tesla projects and other projects that Musk is involved in. Tesla is an electric vehicle production company that is a major up and coming automaker. He then went on to say that the ultimate goal is to reduce the price of Tesla's electric models by even more to $30,000. The lower the price of the model, the more accessible it is for American consumers, and price is always a very important factor to consider for a vehicle. The Model S sedan will be available on a wide scale beginning in 2010.

Elon Musk is a very interesting CEO who is reported to be extravagant with some of his spending. He is also involved in a space travel project that may be involved in future space transportation. Musk is the former founder of Paypal which he sold several years ago to eBay for a large sum of money. Elon Musk is supposedly the inspiration for the Tony Stark character in the latest Iron Man films. Musk has invested much of his fortune into his ventures like Tesla Motors, but the investment has already paid off with a successful IPO and what looks to be large success on the horizon with the Model S sedan.

Toyota to Celebrate a Decade of Prius Models;

2010 is the ten year anniversary of the Toyota Prius model in the United States. Volkswagen is also looking to release a hybrid model or two of the next few years that will be sold at Volkswagen AZ dealers among other dealers. Over the past ten years, the hybrid model has greatly improved in its design and it currently is the top selling hybrid model in the United States and the rest of the world. Toyota Prius to be Built in the United States;

Toyota expects its next-generation Prius to be built in the United States, sources say. The Toyota Prius can be purchased with financing discounts offered from Special Auto Finance deals. Toyota's latest Prius will have a few updates and changes that are expected to continue to make the Prius one of the top selling hybrids on the market. However, it will very likely be in the United States where labor costs are dropping and there are more incentives for automakers like Toyota to outsource vehicle production.

The demand for the Prius will depend on the speed of recovery of the United States market. If the market improves to over 12 to 14 million vehicles per year in the next few years, there will likely be an increased demand for the Prius and other vehicle models. Current projections for the United States vehicle market for 2010 are currently less than this amount.

Will Americans Adopt the Diesel Motor?

The diesel motor is a popular alternative fuel engine in Europe that has shown to be substantially more efficient than traditional gasoline engines. Ford Prices MKZ Hybrid The Same as Gasoline Model;

Senate Approves Fuel Efficient Vehicle Bill;

The Senate has approved a bill that would encourage more research into advanced fuel efficiency vehicle technologies along with medium to heavy duty truck research. The bill would help GM produce better vehicles with more funding for electric vehicle research. GM's Chevy Malibu Specials are great ways to save money on the popular Malibu model. Ford's latest models have already taken advantage of this research and it is likely that Ford's future models will be at the forefront of alternative energy research. Ford will continue to put out several fuel efficient models in the upcoming years.

Other manufacturers will likely benefit from the new loan program if it is passed in Congress, as they will have access to more funds that can be used to develop new models. The shift toward electric models is expected to occur over the next decade and many carmakers are getting a head start on this shift by learning more about the science and engineering that makes an electric vehicle efficient.

Leno not so hot on the Chevy Volt

Jay Leno is not very excited about the Chevy Volt, which will be Chevy's upcoming hybrid model that is a major talking point for several automobile analysts. The focus and point of GM making the Volt less sporty and more sedan like was probably for the purpose of the model to be more considered as a family model instead of a sports vehicle. Although sports lovers may not enjoy the Volt, it should be noted that the Volt will feature up to 40 miles of driving on solely electric power, a very unique vehicle feature that can not be found on very many sports coupes or other models.

In the future it might turn out that there will be sports vehicles and other models that are electric. The Tesla Roadster is probably the sportiest out of all the electric models, but for now the Volt will do as being a great family sedan and also a somewhat sporty electric-gasoline hybrid.

Honda Developing Plug-in Hybrid

Honda announced that they will be releasing several hybrid and possibly electric vehicle models. Toyota and Tesla Sign Contract for RAV4 Development;

The talks of Toyota and Tesla working together have finalized in a deal between the companies to produce a joint RAV4 electric vehicle model. Toyota is looking to produce more electric vehicles to compete domestically and abroad with Ford whose latest models like the Ford Fiesta and Ford Taurus are popular vehicle choices in certain markets around the world. Toyota will be working with Tesla and using Tesla's latest battery technology to produce the vehicle that will be powered by an all-electric drivetrain. Obama Expects Electric Battery Prices to Decrease;

President Obama said that the prices of batteries are expected to decline at a rapid rate. Volkswagen models like the Hybrid Jetta will use some of the latest battery technology that will be found at a lower cost in the upcoming years due to advances in battery manufacturing. LG Chem CEO Bahnsuk Kim said that he expects a 50 percent drop in battery prices by 2015 due to improved production measures. The increased demand at that point would allow for more and more batteries and thus electric vehicles to be produced. At the current moment the high cost of batteries is somewhat of a deterrent to consumers that may wish to by hybrid or electric vehicle models but can't afford the high initial cost.

The President and many others hope that the lower battery costs will result in increased electric vehicle sales, and the electric vehicle may become the new standard of automobile as a result of the lower prices.

Ford Takes Another Lead In Green Technology!

The 2011 Ford Edge made news today when it was announced that it has 19 miles per gallon fuel efficiency in the city with 27 miles per gallon on the highway. The RAV4 and the Lexus RX hybrids will be two of the first models that use the joint technology that the two automakers will work on together. These two new prototypes will be received by Toyota sometime this month. The reason that the RAV4 and the RX were selected were because of these models' capability to handle the large weight of Tesla's battery technology.

Toyota is the world's largest producer of hybrid automobiles, and the partnership with Tesla could produce some of the most popular hybrid models in the world. Tesla is known for its all electric $109,000 Roadster which is currently in small scale production. However, Tesla too will enter the mainstream hybrid market in 2012 with its Model S Sedan that will be produced on a larger scale.

It will be exciting to see which models that Toyota and Tesla end up collaborating on using the latest battery technology and Toyota's production processes.

Toyota to Release Several Green Vehicles!

Toyota has announced its plans to reveal numerous "green" vehicle models over the next few years. Volkswagen, a German competitor will release a hybrid Jetta and other models that can be found at a Peoria VW dealership. In addition to popular fuel efficient models like the Prius Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid, Yaris, Corolla, and other models, Toyota will be revamping other current models to be more fuel efficient, adding hybrid powertrains to new or current models, or release hybrid, electric, or fuel efficient new models. Toyota is continuing to emerge from its recall problems with news of new hybrid models that are fuel efficient. Toyota recently announced that they would be improve production quality with several new "devils advocate" engineer teams that would be inspecting vehicles for any and all faults.

Toyota is still a quality automobile producer and time will likely show better results in vehicle quality with the new electric models that Toyota plans on releasing over the next few years. Other companies that have made their fuel efficiency efforts known include GM, Ford, Volkswagen, Honda, and several others.

Even automakers like Nissan and Mercedes which have not had a hybrid model for many years have decided to join the green initiative and produce hybrid or electric models. Nissan will release its fully electric Leaf model later this year which is expected to be a major electric vehicle seller. The Leaf will compete with the hybrid Volt model in the United States, and other electric or hybrid models such as the Prius.

2012 looks like it will be a great year for electric models as several automakers will be releasing models, most notable Tesla which will be releasing their Model S electric vehicle.

Apple Executive to Join Tesla?

Tesla Motors has reportedly hired an Apple executive to assist the company with its storefront demonstrations. The company hired George Blankenship who is a retail executive and has experience working with Microsoft, The Gap, and Apple. He is now Tesla's vice president of design and store development. The hybrid and electric market is expected to expand over the next few years, and Honda Birmingham dealerships have already taken advantage of this trend with their hybrid models. Volkswagen is releasing a hybrid Jetta as well that will be sold at a Volkswagen Peoria dealership.

Nissan's Infiniti luxury line will feature a hybrid M35 model that will feature various Infiniti Prices depending on one's geography. There are not that many manufacturers that have their own retail outlets, but Tesla is going to also go straight to consumer with their own retail stores throughout the nation. Tesla at the moment has 8 stores in the United States that sell its $109,000 Roadster sports coupe that is completely battery powered.

2011 Roadster is Updated By Tesla!

The 2011 Roadster has new features and styling and the news of the vehicle's release has shot down rumors that the two seater would not be continued for 2011. The new Roadster will still cost $109,000 like previous models and can be purchased from Tesla. There will be a limited supply of the model as Tesla is currently increasing its production capacities. The Roadster is capable of driving up to 100 miles without being recharged.

Tesla recently had a successful IPO in which the stock's price started at $17 and went up to over $23 at the end of the day. However, the stock has been falling over the past week, and is now down to below where it started. The stock's decline is not a cause for alarm, it is likely due to volatile markets throughout the world and investor uncertainty.

Land Rover Intends Releasing "Greener" Suvs; on

Land Rover, a British car manufacturer has made its plans to release "greener" sports utility vehicles. Other car manufacturers have made plans to introduce more environmentally friendly models into the market such as Volkswagen, GM, and Subaru.Volkswagen is a German competitor for the British car market and the latest VW models can be seen at a local Volkswagen Dealer. GM is an American automaker with a luxury Buick line that can be found at dealers throughout the world and at a Jersey City Buick Service. Land Rover is owned by Indian based Tata Motors, a multinational corporation with division throughout the world. The Range Rover Evoque was shown last week in London and it features a lighter weight, two doors, and increased fuel efficiency.

Other steps will be taken with Land Rover's other models. Land Rover has several much larger vehicle models that can use improved fuel technology. Tata Motors has been doing well with its Jaguar Land Rover models that may boost sales up to 50 percent compared to 2009 sales. Luxury vehicles are continuing to be in demand both in Europe and in the United States as the economy rebounds among certain sectors.

A newly revamped diesel engine will be included in the 2011 Range Rover which will increase fuel efficiency. The new engine will have 309 horsepower but also be capable of up to 30.1 miles per gallon which is an 18 percent efficiency increase.

There remains much room for growth for the company as there are currently many other manufacturers that have taken broader leaps in their fuel efficiency technology. But Land Rover will likely continue to compete among those companies that have taken the first steps with its own new developments over the next few years.

Tesla Stock Declines After Succsesful IPO;

Tesla Motors Inc. made substantial headway toward its financing goals at the company's IPO last week. GM, whose Chevy brand can be purchased at a RT 22 Chevy Dealer, will offer an IPO for its new company after the previous company was removed from the stock exchange following a bankruptcy. Tesla sold many more shares than anticipated and the company CEO Elon Musk also made a substantial amount of money at the IPO. This was an increase of 41 percent, and Tesla made a total of $226 million at the IPO.

However, Tesla's stock declined to $19.20 last Friday. Experts have said that Tesla's stock trading is expected to be "volatile" as the future for the company is uncertain. Some think that the company could be valued over $10 billion in the future and other investors are not as certain. However, President Barack Obama has made his intentions clear that companies such as Tesla will be supported in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce reliance upon foreign oil.

Tesla has made plans to invest gains from investors into product development and technology. Tesla may also be purchasing acquisitions in the upcoming months. Tesla did surprisingly well at its IPO during a period in which other markets were experiencing turmoil. Several other corporations have postponed their own IPOs due to the current problems of the European debt crisis which has decreased the S&P 500 by as much as 14 percent.

Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is a One-of-a-Kind Model;

The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid which is based on the Ford Fusion’s architecture, is Lincoln’s first hybrid offering. The Lincoln MKZ has Bridge of Weir leather seating which is also environmentally friendly. Other features include heated and cooled seating, wood trim that is harvested with environmentally friendly methods, and seven major safety features.

The Lexus HS 250h is considered the major competitor for Ford’s Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and so far it looks like Ford’s model is quite ahead of Lexus’s in terms of features, capabilities, and most importantly, fuel efficiency. Also, recently Lexus has been involved in a number of recalls starting with a fire risk in the Lexus HS 250h that resulted in 17,000 recalls, and most recently an engine stalling risk that affected several other Lexus models.

Nissan Leaf Popularity Surges!

Although the Nissan Leaf's initial popularity has decreased, it is certain that the Nissan Leaf will be one of the most popular electric vehicles on the market. The car has several thousands of pre-orders and it will likely be found at Bradenton used cars dealers. There were rumors that other factors would affect how long the Leaf is capable of driving such as barometric pressure, however this claim turned out to be unfounded.

The Nissan Leaf's body is quite different from the Volt, but it is still an attractive enough model for many buyers. The Volt is a sleek sedan and the Leaf is a smaller compact 5 door hatchback. The Leaf is more tailored toward compact and subcompact hatchback fans. The Volt is tailored toward those who like sedans with a sportier look.

The Leaf will go on sale later this year, and Nissan plans to release more initial models than the Chevy Volt. The Volt is not expected to make an initial profit while the Leaf will likely be profitable for Nissan. Some websites have reported that the Nissan Leaf has more initial interest than the Chevy Volt, however the Volt's popularity seems to be catching on as the car is currently sold out of its initial models.
